A Better Way to Learn

Beginning with significant figures and scientific notation, students who take first-year chemistry – typically sophomores – can struggle. Getting them acclimated early can help, but I also enjoy clearing up later topics like periodic trends, dimensional analysis, and balancing equations. If you have a student intimidated by stoichiometry and Lewis dot structures, I have been taking the scare factor out of chemistry for as long as I have been tutoring – decades.
